Our first full week back has been a busy one. Some of our Year 6 children sat the 11+ on Thursday. They were very calm and embraced it well. Well done to everyone else who had their day disrupted but continued their learning in Rowan or Cherry Class.
In English, we wrote a diary entry about a journey that we have had to do on our own. This was for our Cold Write and preparing us for our story we are starting next week which is Goodnight Mr Tom.
In Maths, Year 5 have been exploring place value. They have been learning to read, write, compare and order numbers up to 10,000, 100,000 and 1,000,000 and determine their values. Year 6 have been learning the same but up to 10,000,000. They have also been learning about negative numbers too.
In Science, we have been learning about the 5 main animal groups and the characteristics of the animals that belong in these animal groups.
In RE, we will be exploring life after death in other religions. This week we explored what happens after death.
In Computing we are finding out about algorithms and started to look at coding and how to break codes.
In PSHE, we are learning about healthy eating and exploring food labels, how to read them and what they mean.
In PE, we are learning skills to play football and basketball.
