Week ending 25th September 2026

It’s been another busy week of learning and sports in Maple Class.  I hope you will agree that the children were amazing during our Sports Day on Tuesday.  They showed try sportsmanship, resilience and kindness throughout the morning and I am proud of each of them!

In literacy we have been learning about the prefix ‘in’ and completing sentences with the correct word.  The children have also been learning how to use the third person pronoun to avoid repetition and to make their writing more interesting for the reader.

For example:

Harry lost his / my pencil.​

1. b) Ella enjoyed her / our swimming lesson.​
2. c) The children carried their / your swimming kit.​
3. d) Ben and Jack ate their / my sandwiches.​

In numeracy, Year 3 have been learning how to order on a number line and how to efficiently calculate the value of each interval whilst Year 4 have been ordering and comparing numbers beyond 1000.
