In 2025 our Parent Forum was formed. It is now a really important part of our school improvement process.
Our Parent Forum is open to all parents and carers and is a great way to get involved in school life.
It provides an opportunity to share views, ask questions and work together with school leaders to help shape the experiences of our children. The forum helps ensure parent voice is listened to and valued, to make our school the best school in the world!.
This term (term 6) we looked at;
1. Provision of free milk for all 5 year olds - the school will provide free milk for every child until they leave Apple and Pear classes.
2. Sports Day - We discussed sports day arrangements. It would be lovely to have an all day event and invite all parents and carers but it was felt that this had some issues;
- what about children whose parents can't come?
- What about safeguarding?
- How do we know who is with who?
- Who is in charge of supervising the children?
We discussed issues and logistics of parents with more than one child - this needs to be accounted for.
3. Could the school library be opened at the end of the school? Karen Abrahams will ask Erona Pali about her plans to make it accessible.
4. Epilepsy - a parent asked if we could raise awareness and offer support.
5. We discussed Subject Access Requests. One parent showed a tik tok trend for encouraging parents to access all the information about their child. Karen Dhanecha explained that the school had received 6 requests since January and this represents a considerable amount of work. Although parents are free to make a SAR, they are welcome to ask for specific information at any time. There are no secret files!
6. Parents said that they value the opportunity to meet their child's new teacher and requested
clear signposting as they are not always sure where to drop off and pick up!
THE DATE OF THE NEXT MEETING IS 16TH JULY AT 1:30pm in the Lodge
