What a long term it has been, and we have certainly packed a lot of learning into our final week! π
A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who attended Parents' Evening. It was lovely to see so many of you, and we are very grateful for your continued support. π
π Reminder: School reopens for children on Tuesday 3rd November 2026. We hope you all have a wonderful and restful half-term break!
βοΈ English
This week, we have been exploring dialogue in our writing. The children have learned how to punctuate speech correctly, written their own scripts, and created engaging conversations between characters. It has been fantastic to see them bringing their characters to life through their dialogue! ππ
π’ Maths
Year 5
Year 5 have been investigating powers, including squared and cubed numbers. They have been developing their understanding of how numbers can be multiplied by themselves and applying this knowledge to a range of mathematical problems. π§ β
Year 6
Year 6 have been focusing on adding and subtracting fractions by finding the lowest common denominator. They have shown great determination when tackling some tricky calculations and are becoming much more confident when working with fractions. π―
π¬ Science
In Science, we investigated different habitats and explored the animals that live within them. The children thought carefully about how habitats provide everything living things need to survive and discussed how animals are adapted to their environments. πΏπΎ
π» Computing
This week, we became reporters! Using green screen technology, the children created reports about Bletchley Park and Alan Turing. They thoroughly enjoyed presenting their learning and developing their digital skills. π¬π»
π¬ PSHE
In PSHE, we had an important discussion about big emotions and explored strategies to help us manage them. The children shared thoughtful ideas and reflected on ways to support both themselves and others when experiencing strong feelings. β€οΈ
β½ PE
We concluded our Football and Basketball units with a series of matches. There was some excellent teamwork on display, and I was particularly impressed with the mature attitudes shown towards both winning and losing. Well done, everyone! ππ

π Half-Term Home Learning
Although we hope everyone enjoys a well-earned rest over the half-term break, please remember to keep up with some regular learning activities at home.
β Complete assigned TT Rock Stars activities to keep your times tables sharp.
β Log in to MyMaths and complete any tasks that have been set.
β Spend some time practising spellings on Spelling Shed.
β Read regularly throughout the holiday. Even 10-15 minutes each day can make a big difference to reading fluency, comprehension and vocabulary.
Thank you for your support with these activities. They help the children maintain their progress and return to school feeling confident and ready to learn. π
Have a wonderful half-term break, and thank you once again for all your support this term. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on 3rd November ready for another exciting term of learning! ππ
