Week ending 16th October 2026

Firstly a huge thank you to all of you that came to our class assembly this morning. It really does mean so much to the children to have an adult come along.  I hope that you enjoyed listening to this small snippet of what we have learnt in the past six weeks.  It really does make me realise how much they learn in such a short space of time.

In literacy we have continued our learning on the prefix inter- and have been practising asking questions about Stonehenge.  On Friday, we looked at how tension is created in a story and the effect this has on the reader. We then looked at ways the children can add this to their own writing.

In numeracy, Year 3 have focused on adding 2 3 digit numbers together, without exchanging.  The children were shown how to partition the number and break it down before adding them together.  Whilst Year 4 have been subtracting up to 4 digits with one or more exchanges.

We completed our Restart a Heart training with Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS).  Well done to everyone – hopefully it is a skill that we will never have to use!
