Term 1 Week 1

Good afternoon and welcome to Oak Class! The children have settled in so well over the past two days, now knowing where to come into school and where to exit, where the toilets are and most importantly, where their coat pegs and trays to store their belongings are!

Thank you to those parents who have already sent children in with named PE kits. If you haven’t already, please do so on Monday. Our PE days are Monday and Thursday and the children are expected to change themselves within 8-10 minutes. Please practise at home with your child. Fiddly buttons and tricky zips can slow them down. Also, please encourage your child to take any opportunity to dress themselves too. Thank you for your support.

Reading books and new Reading Records are all being organised for your child and will be coming home very soon. Please keep up daily reading at home, sending your child into school to change their book when it is finished. Please encourage your child to tell an adult that they need to change their book and we can facilitate this.  Log in’s for Home Learning platforms will also be sent home in the Reading Records.

A big well done to Oscar, Susan, Glorious and Heaven who made it onto our special Oak Tree. When a child is identified for following one or all 3 of Park Way’s R’s (responsibility, resilience or respect), they are awarded a special Oak leaf to put on our class tree. The children who have added a leaf to our Oak Tree by Friday will get an extra special reward! All of the children will have many opportunities to achieve this and us adults will be monitoring and ensuring this.

If you have any questions at all, please come and speak to one of us. We open the door to welcome the children in the mornings and are available at the end of the day if a longer discussion is needed.
