Welcome to Holly Class blog. Here you will find weekly updates of what we have been up to.  

Holly Class is a mixed year group class consisting of Year 1s and Year 2s. The children are taught concepts as a whole class and then the learning is scaffolded and differentiated to meet the objectives of the year group your child is in. Out timetable can be found on the Holly Class noticeboard outside the area where you pick up and drop your children off.

At Park Way we follow the Read Write Inc phonics scheme to teach early reading.  We are currently assessing the children on their phonics and will then be sending out Reading Records by Friday 18th September.  These will have information about what Read Write Inc group your child is in as well as login details for the apps that we use for home learning and also how to log onto our Microsoft Teams page that is an app that can be used to communicate with the members of staff in the classroom.

Holly Class will have P.E on Tuesdays. P.E kits will remain in the classroom until the end of term when they will be sent home to be washed. 

Our overall topic this term is 'Time Detectives' with a focus on comparing the lives of Victorian children to the lives of children today. We have a school trip to Kent Life this term linked to this. You will receive a letter with details of the trip shortly.
