Term 5, Week 2

Apples and Pears have had an exciting week with our first school trip to the farm. We were very proud of how well behaved the children were and we learnt some amazing facts about the animals we saw. We completed a bug hunt in the woods, stoked the lambs and feed the highland cows. We also got to ride on a tractor! What a great first trip.

In Literacy, we have linked our learning to our farm experience and looked at 'What The Ladybird Heard'. The children listened to the story and drew their own farm including different animals. We then labelled our farm using our sounds and tried hard to write some great sentences.

In Maths we looked at continuing patterns between 10 and 20. We counted to 20 and played target number, where the children had to count around in a circle till we reached the target number and then cross their legs. The winner was the child with their legs uncrossed. We built towers with the shape bricks and children used their counting skills to count how many they had used. Lastly we covered some of the numbers on a 100 square and had to work out what number was missing.

In PE we learnt how to jump in different ways and how to land safely. The children worked well together and individually.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend and we will see you all on Tuesday.

Thank you for your continued support.
