This week we have moved on to looking at poetry now the children have finished their diary entries. We have been looking at shape poems this week and the children have painted backgrounds of an erupting volcano which they will then write their shape poems onto. They have looked at how to include similes, metaphors and alliteration to make their poems more descriptive.
In Maths, Year 4 have been looking at short division methods, and the children have been looking at different ways of grouping numbers to help use the method effectively. Year 3 have been looking at money and how to give change.
In topic we have been creating brochures for volcanic islands around the world and learning about the different types of volcanoes that form. In science we conducted experiments to find out whether a rock would be sedimentary, metamorphic or igneous using simple household tests.
