It seems unreal that we are over half way through the term already. The children have really settled in to Walnut Class and we are so proud of the learning they have completed so far. In Literacy, we have moved on to looking at instructional writing and will be looking at different survival skills in the coming weeks. We have learnt how to light a fire. The children thoroughly enjoyed watching Mr Bowles teaching them the skills of how to light a fire safely. They had a lovely treat on top, they could roast a marshmallow and eat it around the fire. When they went back to class they wrote a set of rules and instructions to go with their learning.
In Maths, Year 4 have been finishing off looking at place value by practicing rounding to nearest thousand, and converting numbers to Roman numerals. Year 3 have been looking at place value also, practicing subtraction of numbers.
In Science, we have looked at the importance of muscles in the body, and the children have completed the bleep test to see how much their muscles can endure. We have also built a water cycle model to monitor and observe in class.
As the weather gets colder, please make sure children are coming to school with jumpers and coats where needed. We would also like to thank parents for supporting us with sending children with the right PE kits and trainers on PE days.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
