It has been a fantastic first week back, and we are so glad the children enjoyed their Easter break. This term we are looking at a new topic, Inventions that Changed the World. The children have already completed their knowledge harvest thinking about how inventions have changed throughout time and trying to estimate when some of our most well known inventions were first created. We have also been looking at Force and Magnetism in our Science learning and the children have been been testing the impact of different surfaces on the distance a moving car will travel.
In Literacy we are studying the London Eye Mystery all about a boy called Salim who vanishes from the London Eye. We have made predictions based on the front cover and the blurb, and have already begun looking at the first few chapters to see what clues we can find, and looking for writing features to use in our own mystery stories at the end of term.
In Maths Year 4 have continued their learning on decimals looking at rounding and conversion. Year 3 have been looking at fractions of objects.
This term we are lucky enough to have the PASS coaches for PE, and our PE day has changed to a Tuesday. Please come to school in the school PE kit which should consist of: black short/jogging bottoms, a plain T-shirt in the colour of your child's team, plimsols or trainers.
Have a lovely weekend.
Mr Saunders and Mrs Harris.
