Welcome everyone to our latest (and last) blog from Term 3. Unbelievably, we are now HALFWAY through the academic year and when the children return to school on Monday 24th they will a step closer to either Year 7 or Year 6!
In Literacy this final week, the children planned and wrote a newspaper report based on the goings-on at the school linked to the Demon Headmaster. The children used relevant features such as facts and opinions, quotations and rhetorical questions.
In Numeracy, Year 5 (finally) moved away from fractions and started looking at decimal numbers. Year 6 this week concentrated on fractions, decimals and percentages and how they are linked.
In Computing yesterday, the class continued their learning with Micro:Bits (mini computers) and programmed codes to allow them to control NeoPixel LED lights. I was very impressed with what they were able to achieve over the lesson, so much skill and knowledge with the technology demonstrated.
In PE Wednesday we had the final gymnastics session with an outside PE specialist, using the equipment and culminating in a 'girls vs boys' springboard competition! (won narrowly by the girls I should add!)
In RE we had out final lesson of the term linked to Islam, this time looking at their holy book - the Qur'an - and how it offers guidance to Muslims. Throughout the topic, the class have been very respectful and asked lots of interesting questions.
Have a great half-term everyone, see you Monday 24th!
