Welcome parents to our class blog from a slightly shorter week, due to the school closure yesterday
In Literacy this week, the children have investigated in some detail the Greek myth 'Pandora's Box'. The children planned and wrote a newspaper report about the events surrounding this myth, using specific features such as columns, facts and opinions and reported/direct speech.
In Numeracy both year groups consolidated their understanding of angles, looking at the values of angles on a straight line and around a point. Year 6 also moved onto co-ordinates, which Year 5 will look at very soon!
In History our topic is called The Great, The Bold and the Brave and for our second lesson of the term we looked in detail at The Vikings, in particular the myths surrounding them (for example they NEVER wore horned helmets) and the reasons for raiding and for settling in Britain.
In RE we looked at how Muslims show commitment to their religion and in PSHE the class looked at government, Parliament and the role of MP's.
Cricket we're about to do on the field, under a hot sunny sky!
Have a great extended weekend everyone, see you Tuesday 6th May
