Cherry Class Blog 2024 25 Term 5 Week 3

Welcome everyone to our latest Cherry Class blog, for the final week before Year 6 sit their SATs tests from Monday through to Thursday next week.

Throughout the week we have been looking in some detail at the Greek myth linked to Medusa, a ferocious, diabolical creature with snakes for hair and the power to turn anyone she saw into stone. The class wrote descriptively about her and how she came to be (as she was born a beautiful woman).

In Numeracy, Year 5 moved away from angles and instead investigated both 2D and 3D shapes and coordinates today (Friday 9th) whereas Year 6 looked at translation, rotation and coordinates also.

In RE this week we looked at the religion of Hinduism and how Hindus show commitment to their religion through their peaceful ways. We linked the learning to Gandi and the children created a factfile about this incredible man.

In Science this week, we linked the learning to history and looked at how the Ancient Greeks told time using both sundials and water jugs called a 'water thief'!

The sun was out again this afternoon and we played cricket on the field.

Have a good weekend everyone
