This week we have been practising some of the skills needed for newspaper report writing including writing consistently in the 3rd person, using conjunctions and writing complex sentences.
In Maths, Year 3 have been looking at adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers. Year 4 have been looking at ways to partition numbers to 10,000 and how to compare and order numbers.
In Science we looked at the different types of teeth we have and their purpose. The children really enjoyed making plasticine models of human teeth to really explore the role that shape and location in the jaw has on our ability to chew and digest food. In History we looked at how the earliest humans would have lived during the Paleolithic era. In Art we explored how the different techniques we used for oil pastels could be used in our cave painting designs before completing our final pieces in the coming weeks. Finally our challenge with Commando Josh this week had to be inside due to the weather, so we had to design and make our own Viking longboats to see which group could make the best one.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and donated towards McMillan at our cake sale.
We hope you have a lovely weekend,
Mr Saunders and Mrs Mallon.
