Autumn Term 1 - Week 2

Week 2

We are now getting used to the routines of Holly Class and are slowly settling in. In English this week we have been practising writing full sentences. We have learnt that a complete sentence needs a WHO and a WHAT.  We have been role-playing as Victorian children working in the coal mines and then wrote our emotions and thoughts.

In Maths, we have been learning to read and write numbers. Year 1s have been focusing on numbers up to 20 and Years 2 have been focusing on numbers to 100. We have also learnt to identify 1 more and less from a given number. Year 2s have also learnt to calculate 10 more and 10 less than a number.
