Week 5
This week in Maths we have been representing and using number bonds to 10 and 20. We learnt that knowing our number bonds helps us add very quickly. We have been using Tens frames to help us practise and some of us have recognised the patterns and have become fluent at recalling the number bonds.
In English we have using role-play to understand feelings and have been imagining what it must have felt like to be Oliver Twist. We wrote diary entries including adjectives to describe feelings. We have also started to imagine what life must have been like for a Victorian chimney sweep.
In History we used pictures to help us learn what life was like for a Victorian chimney coal miner. We learnt what the roles of a trapper, drawer and thruster involved. In Science we learnt how day light hours change across the seasons.
