Spring Term - Week 1

Welcome Back

Welcome back and I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break. This term in English, our focus text is 'Traction Man.' This week we have been learning about the features of a letter including:

• Sender's address
• Receiver's address
• Date 
• Dear...
• Main body of the letter
• Sign off
• Sender's name

In Maths we have been learning to use related facts to add. Year 1s have been learning to use number bonds to 10 to calculate number bonds to 20 and Year 2s have been learning to use number bonds to 10 to add numbers to 100.

In Science we are going to be learning about materials and this week we started to identify the material an object is made from rather than the name of the object. In RE we began to learn about Judaism and in History we learnt about Jack Whatman who was a significant historical figure locally.
