Spring Term - Week 4

Week 4

This week in English we started to learn about book reviews. We investigated the features of a book review and began to learn to express our opinion about our favourite books.  We also learnt what a summary and recommendation is.

In Maths, Year 1s have been revisiting place value and learning to read 2 digit numbers. Year 2s have been learning to subtract using the pictorial method.

In Science this week we learnt to describe the properties of materials. We used words such as fragile, transparent, opaque, flexible and durable. In RE we began to watch the Prince of Egypt to learn about the story of Moses which is an important story for Jewish people.

In History this week we looked at a painting and a photograph of Leeds Castle and discussed which one was most reliable when thinking as historians. We decided that a photograph is more reliable because you have to be there to take the photo but at the same time it can be edited and changed so isn't always 100% reliable.
