Term 3 Week 6

Hello everyone! :)

We made it! Another term whizzes by and Ivy Class is going from strength to strength.

What have we been up to...

  • In Literacy, we have been learning to sequence events. We’ve been exploring the term chronological order as well as looking at what this may look like when giving instructions. We used time conjunctions and imperative verbs to have a go at writing our own instructions.
  • In Maths, we’ve been using maths skills to recognise equal groups. We started to look at arrays and be able to solve word problems.
  • In Art we continued to develop our artist skills and linked this to our learning on instructions. We followed instructions to create some stunning floral drawings! We then evaluated our masterpieces.
  • In DT we also used our evaluation skills to evaluate our sock puppets. We looked at what went really well and what we would like to improve on next time. We had great fun looking back at our pictures of our sock puppets.
  • In PE we put all the multi-skills we have learnt to the test and played a series of team games. It was lovely to see team spirit thrive!
  • In science we used all our knowledge about materials from the past term and were able to compare several materials; Thinking about their properties and what they would be used for.

I hope everyone has a restful and well-deserved half term and we will see you in just over a weeks time!

Gentle reminders and notes:

  • please let us know via teams or speak to Miss Bird if you are able to help out on our Key Stage 1 Leeds Castle trip.  Thank you for your continued support!

Have a wonderful week off!
