Term 6 week 3

Hello :)

Oak Class have had an amazing week celebrating diversity week!

English

In English this week we have been looking at traditional tales from across the world and how these change depending on the culture of the countries. The children have looked at different words and phrases and clarified the meaning of these as well as using their knowledge of adjectives and expanded noun phrases to write descriptions. They have produced some lovely writing and I have been so impressed with the handwriting!

Maths

This week in maths we have been looking at statistics. We have been constructing and interpreting tally charts, pictograms and block graphs by representing data linked to smarties! The class have really understood the learning and have then applied their knowledge to problem solving with some of us challenging ourselves with 2 step problems!

Afternoons

During the afternoons this week, Oak Class have been taking part in diversity afternoons. They have been learning about different continents around the world, the cultures you will find and then taken part in a variety of different activities linked to these. They have thoroughly enjoyed learning about different places around the world and have developed their knowledge really well!
