Term 2, Week 6 (13/12/24)

What a week it’s been here at school, one more week left! Sprig (the class Elf) has continued his antics in class this week, he continues as a great addition to Rowan Class.

Yesterday was Christmas Jumper Day, and I must say, the children looked absolutely amazing in their colourful jumpers. Their cheerful spirit truly brightened the day!

In our Year 5 maths lessons, we wrapped up our unit on fractions. We moved on to Roman Numerals and creating our own Maths board game for the last few lessons of the week. Meanwhile, Year 6 are tackling ratio and scales — what a fantastic opportunity to hone their mathematical skills!

In Literacy, the children showcased their creativity with their hot write poems, and Mr Bowles couldn’t be prouder of their efforts. Well done to all for producing such brilliant learning!

In Science, we embarked on an exciting project, creating games based on our classification learning — what a fun way to reinforce our understanding!

Our DT lessons allowed us to evaluate the bridges we constructed, while in Geography, we investigated the causes and impacts of flooding — an important topic living in Maidstone!

PE wrapped up our Fitness topic and moved on to playing some lively team games, ensuring a great end to the week.

In PSHE, we delved into emotional regulation, tying this into our Zones of Regulation in class.

A big well done to everyone in Rowan Class for their hard work, one week left. We can do this!

Just a reminder - Christmas Dinner is on Wednesday, 18th December.

The last day of term will be Friday, 20th December and we be welcoming the children back on Monday, 6th January 2025!

IMPORTANT – children should not be wearing hooped earrings in school. These should be studs. The children MUST be able to remove these studs for PE.

Have a great weekend,

Mr Bowles, Mrs Morris and Miss Rackley.
