Term 4, Week 2 (7th March)

Another busy week in Rowan Class has come to a close! We dived into the captivating first few chapters of 'Cosmic', which has sparked great enthusiasm for diary writing and character descriptions among the children.

In maths, Year 5 has focused on rounding decimal numbers, learning how to round them to a whole number and to one decimal place. Later on, we explored percentages, discussing how to represent them visually. Year 6 dedicated their maths sessions to completing practice SATs papers. Well done, everyone, for your resilience this week!

Our Science lessons took us on an exciting journey through the features of the planets in the Milky Way. In Music, the children have been tapping into their creativity and can now play ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ using only their bodies—be sure to ask them to show you!

In PSHE, we discussed acceptance and the importance of respecting one another, alongside our motto of ‘Good for me, Good for you, Good for Everyone’ and exploring the meaning of this. Our DT session saw the creation of 3D solar system models on Tinkercad, which we'll explore further with AR next week.

Finally, in PE, we continued our Dance lessons linked to natural events and even started to discover the world of tennis.

Just a quick reminder: The Science Museum trip is this Thursday (13th March). Don't forget your SCHOOL UNIFORM, but trainers are allowed!

Have a lovely weekend!
