We believe that home learning forms an important part of children’s development towards becoming active, independent and self-motivated learners and raising attainment. Home Learning at primary school is also an important part of preparing children well for the next stage of their education and the expectations that accompany this.
All children at Park Way from Year R to Year 6 are expected to complete home learning tasks weekly. All staff value home learning and the children's efforts and achievements are celebrated regularly in school.
We also recognise the importance of family time and activity. Homes are busy places and we value family time spent together, time to be sociable active and outdoors as much as possible. Our home learning expectations have been pared back to reflect this.
Home Learning is completed online and aims to improve and consolidate the important basic skills of reading, spelling and times table recall.
Every week, your child will be set activities on the following websites:
Following our home/school agreement, we expect all parents to support their children with their home learning. Please speak to your child's class teacher if you have any questions about their home learning.
