Term 5 Week 3

In Literacy we continued reading The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau. This week we have planned and written descriptions for characters and settings.

In Maths this week, Year 5 are learning about co-ordinates and translations of shapes on a quadrant. Year 6 have learnt to label a circle and discuss how to find the radius and diameter. They have been finding missing angles in triangles and quadrilaterals. They have also been exploring angles in 2D shapes and drawing the shapes with given measurements.

In science we know that light travels in a straight line, so we used this knowledge to explore reflection.

In Computing we used the micro bits to explore input and selection.

For PE, cricket will be on Thursday. Our session on Friday will be with Commando Josh, working on OAA and team building activities.

This term Year 6 will sit their SATS. These will take place between Monday 13th May and Thursday 16th May.
