It is our mission at Park Way to ensure that all children are confident with their reading so books are sent home with them to share with you. We would be grateful for your support in encouraging your child to read to you as often as possible to progress their fluency and understanding.
Reading records should be in school every day but are collected every Friday so I can see how much reading your child is doing at home. Reading is a crucial part of your child’s future and a fundamental part of their education as it supports no only their literacy skills but access to the wider curriculum as well. It is therefore important that they are reading at least once a day with you at home. This might only be for 10 minutes whilst you are preparing dinner, but it is vital that they are experiencing reading regularly.
