Cherry Class Blog Term 3 Week 3

Good afternoon parents and carers to our latest blog. Halfway (ish) through the term, it has rocketed by!

This week in Literacy the children had a chance to put their creative writing skills to test by writing a character description of a deeply unpleasant individual, who lived in the Mayan Underworld....who goes by the name of the Lord of Death!! Although the subject matter was terrifying, the actual descriptions of this demon were fantastic.

In Numeracy, Year 6 concentrated on proportion and simple formulae and Year 5 looked at division, including remainders, and today we had an end of topic quiz, before moving onto multiplication of fractions next week.

Science was a practical lesson, looking soluble and insoluble materials and testing out predictions and writing up findings in a conclusion. In RE we investigated Islamic prayer and we were fortunate for the input of one of the girls in class who is Muslim herself.

PE today was split, the first session on the playground in the sunshine (and freezing cold) was hockey and then we went inside for a gymnastics sessions concentrating on push and pull balances.

Have a great weekend everyone
