Term 5 Week 5

Happy Friday! One more week until the end of term, who can believe it?!

This week has been a higgledy-piggledy week due to SATs, therefore we have focused on retrieval practice. I’m proud to say the children have remembered and applied their skills to lots of pieces of learning!

Maths: Children have been applying their skill of counting in steps of 2, 5 and 10 to solve problems as well as confidently finding half of a shape.

Geography: The children have been using their map reading skills to name the seven continents. The children had lots of fun using the globe and world maps!

Literacy: The children have had a huge focus on using adjectives and have applied these to create fun, creative and silly sentences!

Art: The children retrieved all their knowledge about the different artists we have a look at this year and have created lovely pieces of artwork using watercolour and colouring pencils.

PSHE: Children have been reflecting on what they have learnt about money. We posed the question: “If I had all the money in the world but I could only buy four things, what would I buy?” We had some very creative answers from a space trip to the moon to buying the zoo.

PE: In PE we are very fortunate to have the coach this week who gave us a whistlestop tour of tennis. The children were very active and enjoyed using the equipment very much!

We were also very lucky to have a drama workshop organised for us. The children enjoyed acting out fairytales with a very chaotic fairy and a very grumpy King!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and see you Monday bright and early for our Kent Life trip!
