Walnut Term 6 Week 2

English

In English we have been looking at biographies of Olympians and gold medalists. We have been focusing on word types including; time prepositions, adjectives and verbs and how we can vary these in order to write descriptions. Walnut Class have really impressed me with their writing and some of their vocabulary choices have been incredible!

Maths

In maths we have continued to look at telling the time, but we also looked at Olympic word problems and made good operation choices to solve these problems.

We have also continued to look at our times tables with a focus on our 8 and 9 times tables.

Afternoons

In Science we have been looking at healthy diet choices. We went on the Tesco website and made healthy food choices. In Art we created our own mythical Greek creatures.

Reminders:

On Friday 21st of June, we are going to have a Diversity Day to celebrate all of the different cultures
that make up our amazing community at Park Way. Children can come to school in either traditional
clothes that are part of their own cultural background or in the kind of clothes they would wear to a
special occasion. As part of our Diversity Day celebrations, we would like to welcome Walnut Class parents to send their children in with any of their own cultural food or snack to explain and share with others.
We are very fortunate to have children from many different cultures in Walnut Class. If you'd like, you can bring in the food or snacks between 12.00 and 1:00 . You might want to come in and help your child to set up their table area.

Have a lovely weekend.

From Mrs Jacobs and Mr Dodd.
