Term 5, Week 1

This week we have started our summer term learning. The children have embraced the sunshine and enjoyed some great learning outside. 

In Literacy we have focused on Jack and the Beanstalk for our text. This allowed us to revisit the growing of our very own beans last term and discuss if they have been growing at home over the Easter holidays. We discussed who the characters were in the story and showed our amazing acting skills to role-play the story as a class. 

In Maths we have looked at numbers to 20. We counted in a circle up to 13 and compared numbers with different quantities. The children were great at representing different numbers and drawing or showing the amounts with objects. 

In PHSE we looked at friendship and throughout the week the children could say an act of kindness they had shown to their friends. 

In PE we have started our new topic of tennis. This week we started with practising moving side to side across the playground and catching our tennis ball with both hands.
