Term 5 has ended and has thankfully brought back the warmer, sunny weather!
This term our topic was called 'Green Fingers,' which focused on plants. In D&T, we built our own planters and evaluated our designs whilst building, making appropriate changes as needed. In Art, we studied David Best's sculptures and then designed and created our own using art straws, papier mache and paint.
Next term our topic will be 'Day in the Life of' and we look forward to learning about people's jobs and professions, and about the lives of influential and famous people, both living and dead.
In maths this week, Oak Class have been looking at position and direction and learning about quarter and half turns clockwise and anti-clockwise. We have also used positional language to give directions.
In English, we finished studying 'The Last Wolf' by Mini Grey. The children wrote their own version of the story focusing on using adjectives, a variety of punctuation and conjunctions.
In RE, children have been looking at the work of The Salvation Army and what some Christians do to help their communities.
I hope you all have a lovely half term and look forward to some amazing learning throughout our final term together.
