Welcome parents to Cherry Class blog for the midweek part of Term 5.
A very big week for our Year 6's next week, as they will be sitting their SATs Monday to Thursday in the morning. In preparation for this, there has been lots of revising taking place this week, in particular in Numeracy lessons and stand-alone GPS (grammar, punctuation and spelling) also.
In Literacy, we have continued exploring the class text 'The City of Ember.' We wrote in role as one of the main characters and described a very unusual (dark!) area called the Unknown Regions.
Whilst Year 6 have been beavering away with their SAT's revision, Year 5 have spent the week investigating grids and coordination and translation.
In Science we had a practical session investigating light and reflection and in humanities we looked at how housing/settlements have changed in Britain from prehistoric times to modern day (and everything in-between!)
Have a great weekend everyone, don't forget Year 6 that there is a free 'SAT's breakfast club' being run next week, where drinks and food (such as pancakes, toast etc.) will be provided. Please come along if you are able to.
