This week in literacy, we have focused our learning on punctuation and grammar looking at commas within a list, homophones and editing accurately. Well done again to all those that are reading at home, it really does make a difference!
In Maths, Year 3 consolidated all understanding of time, representing time by drawing accurate hands on a clock and reading given times on a clock. We broke down telling the time to 5-minute intervals, by focusing on the 'past' times in one session and the 'to' times in another, before combining them together. The children have worked really hard to tell the time, please keep this up at home whenever possible. We finished the week by identifying if events take seconds, hours or minutes. Year 4 have also been learning about time both analogue and digital. We then moved onto 24-hour time and how to calculate time using timetables.
In science, we have learnt about the human skeleton and why our bones are important to keep our organs safe.
In PE, we have been practising ready for Sports Day next week. The children learnt how to jump over hurdles and throw a javelin. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.
With that in mind, please make sure your child has a named water bottle in class as the weather in proving a little warm!
Enjoy your weekend.
