In Maths, Year 4 have been looking at coordinates in the first quadrant. We practiced plotting and reading coordinates and using them to plot different shapes. Year 3 recapped our knowledge of addition and subtraction strategies and used these to solve problems.
In Literacy, we explored and created our own Haiku poems with the pattern of 5 syllables, 7 syllables and 5 syllables. The children chose their own themes such as summer, winter, football or ice cream.
In PSHE, we explored the topic of transition and change, thinking about what we are proud of, how to manage transition and change and we discussed a range of positive strategies to help us deal with change. The children spent the afternoon on Wednesday with their new teachers and in their new classrooms so they are ready to get started when they arrive back in September.
Finally, I would like to say thank you to all of the children for a wonderful year in Walnut Class. The children truly helped me settle into life at Park Way- something that I am very grateful for and will never forget! Thank you all for your continued support. Have a wonderful summer with lots of rest and fun!
