Week ending 24/4/26

A busy start to Term 5 indeed!

In English, children have been looking at traditional tales and use of characters, settings and storylines in particular. Children wrote a description of a walk through a wood on Friday using the senses of smell, touch, sight and sound.

In Maths, children have been learning about statistics and tally, pictogram and block charts in particular. Children have been collecting data and using this to draw a variety of charts. KFC seems to be particularly popular in Oak Class!

In RE we looked at the story of the ten lepers and how only one came back to say thank you once they were healed by Jesus and in PE we've made the most of the sunny weather and have started our striking and fielding unit as well as beginning our badminton unit. Our topic this term is Green Fingers, Live and Let Live and children learnt the basic structure of flowering plants and hunted for some on the field.

Our trip to the Mosque on Tuesday was a great success. Children were fascinated by the different rooms in the building and learnt a lot about what Muslims believe and how they live.
