Cherry Class Blog Term 6 Week 3

Welcome parents to our week 3 classroom blog

The children have worked well this week across a wide range of subjects, and the Year 6 are 'cracking on' with their end-of-year production that I am looking forward to watching next month!

In Literacy, we are now 3/4 of the way through our class text 'City of Ember' and things are really hotting up! This week the children wrote in role as one of the main characters and made some excellent predictions as to how people will escape the doomed city.

In Numeracy, Year 5 have focused on 'negative numbers' and we have used timelines and thermometers to further understanding.

In RE we looked at how Christians have used art over the centuries to represent Jesus and his life. The children explored scripture from the Bible and used their own artwork to support the words.

Sports Day is next week and we practised some of the events mid-week including sprints and javelin. I was impressed with how some of the children launched their javelin into the sky and achieved huge distances!

Have a great weekend everyone

See you Monday
