Term 6, Week 2

This week we have been learning about the story 'The Snail and the Whale'. We have discussed adjectives to describe our snail and whale. The children worked hard at writing their sentences using their phonics knowledge. 

In Maths we looked at numbers. We linked this back to sharing and grouping from last week. We showed a number for example 7. Can we share 7 fairly? No so this is an odd number. We then spoke about the difference between odd and even. We also played number bingo. The children practised writing their numbers and recognising them when we called the number out. 

In PHSE we discussed exercise and how yoga can be a form of relaxing and calming exercise. We took part in some yoga positions and were keen to see how long we could hold them for! 

In Understanding the World, we looked at beaches and how the seaside has changed from the past to present. We created a mind map of all the differences and some similarities. 

Don't forget it is our Father's Day stay and play on Friday 19th June. We would love to see you all there!
